Better compaction for better silage

An optimal compaction of the silage is crucial to prevent the unwanted formation of air pockets.

Air inclusions lead to the formation of unwanted aerobic bacteria, yeasts and moulds. The high compaction of the silage with the SilaPress forms the basic prerequisite for the desired anaerobic conditions necessary for optimal fermentation. Many farmers rely on the weight of their tractors or wheel loaders, which drive over the clamp during silo filling, for compacting the silage.

Independent investigations clearly show:
The better the compaction, the lower the losses due to poor fermentation. A well-compacted silage surface is also easier to cut and remove. The entire silo remains more stable after opening if air cannot penetrate deeply into the silo at the cut surface. Uniform compaction requires a lot of manoeuvring work in practice. Here, the tyre tracks often serve as a visual check to see if all areas have been sufficiently compacted. However, optimal compaction is particularly difficult at the sides of the clamp

1. Shaft with 4 longitudinal grease reservoirs for continuous lubrication

2. Separate grease nipple on each wheel and spacer ring.

3. Stable frame as well as bearing shafts with integrated KX bearing.

4. Each wheel runs freely and independently on the shaft. This reduces wear and maintenance

5. Optional brackets for the lower hydraulic arms on the frame. This allows two rollers to be operated simultaneously on the tractor - ideal for larger silage systems.

6. Ergänzend zur Walze können passende Siloschilder mit 2,5 m, 4,0 m und 5,0 m Arbeitsbreite geliefert werden. So kann die Maschine effizient im Verbund mit zwei Geräten gleichzeitig arbeiten.

7. Outer wheels are specially turned so that compaction can be done directly at the track silo wall. The outer wheel tensioning system allows the wheels and rings to be firmly clamped back onto the shaft after wear of the intermediate rings. This keeps the entire construction stable
