What is the significance of the locking hooks in the lower link of tractors:
The three-point system on tractors is crucial for all machines and implements that are not used via the drawbar, tow ball or drawbar pendulum. The basis of the three-point system are the lower links - these basically serve to receive or attach the respective implements. As a rule, lower links are height-adjusted by hydraulic cylinders installed in the transmission block via lift arms. The lower links with ball eyes used in the lower power classes are now a thing of the past. Modern tractors are almost exclusively delivered with locking hooks already fitted as original equipment. The quick and easy coupling of three-point implements is one of the main advantages of this technology. Additionally, the risk of accidents is reduced because the tractor driver does not necessarily have to leave the tractor seat or cab at least for coupling the lower links. Older tractors without locking hooks can be retrofitted. Already worn locking hooks on tractors of the younger generation can also be replaced by modern locking hooks.
